About Our Main Instructor
Hello. I am Erica Rösi Pedersen. I provide most of the curriculum and teaching at Speakmethod.com. Here are some basics about me: B.A. in English, Masters in Creative Writing, TESOL certification (TESOL stands for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), phonics training from the Institute of Reading Development, 10 years of ESL teaching and ESL program management at a refugee resettlement office, over 5 years of one-on-one classes in English pronunciation, 3 years of English pronunciation classes with the University of Washington.
I have worked with international students completing medical exams and advanced professionals from top companies including Microsoft and Amazon.com. I have also worked with international people who are taxi drivers, movers, teachers, therapists, childcare providers and other professions. During English classes, I have helped students develop pronunciation of the R sound, develop the TH sound, learn the different American T sounds, perfect pronunciation of vowel sounds, develop word stress and more. For grammar, I use various practice conversations to help students apply grammar rules to their everyday vocabulary. I have worked with people from East Africa, Senegal, India, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Germany, Bosnia, Russia, and the Ukraine.
During private classes, I enjoy helping students move forward quickly. In one-to-one classes, I can assist with the student's work or life needs in a direct way. Progress happens much faster than in classes with ten or more students. To see me giving a lesson on video, try English pronunciation news.
