A principal leader of a Mexican drug gang has been captured and is being held in Mexico. This leader was a former police officer. They believe he was the mastermind of an attack on a U.S. consulate last year. The attack killed three people, including a consulate worker who was four months pregnant, though enforcement officials believe the attack was an unfortunate case of mistaken identity. Police said that the gang leader confessed to ordering 1,500 killings in the country's most violent city.
